When I started this project, I was not sure how feasible it really was. It was because of this, I
did not want to spend more money than I had to to get it going. Initially, I used a box that was I had just laying
around. My setup is a little more involved than the average install. Since cable is not available in my area, I use Dish network. To
enable MythTV to change channels on the Dish Receiver, I have to use an IR blaster to transmit a signal to do this. In addition to the IR
Blaster I had to purchase a TV card to get started. Below, I have listed my initial system configuration and my current production setup.

It was not more than a couple of weeks when I realized that the storage space, which I originally thought would
be sufficient for testing, was no where near enough. I then purchased an SATA controller (my test box did not have
SATA) and a 320 Gb drive. I ran it using this modified configuration for four months. This test has been so
successful, I decided to build a box with considerably more power and storage. Now, check out these specs:
